I just love working with cotton yarn and especially crocheting anything that is useful but, if it works up quickly that makes it even better.

Inspiration

This fun washcloth pattern has been hanging out in my handy little “idea book” for a while. I knew when I was designing the Everyone’s Everyday Scarf that the Interlocking Row Stitch would also make a fabulous washcloth too so here we are with the Everyday Washcloth.

If you want more inspiration for unique yet eco friendly, useful patterns, then be sure to check out some of my other designs.

Design Details

The washcloth is designed with I Love This Cotton yarn from Hobby Lobby. It’s worsted weight yarn that is amazingly soft and works up perfectly for this pattern. There are two sizes included with the ad-free PDF and you only need a 4.00 mm hook and a 38 yards to make the small washcloth or 103 yards for the large one.

The small washcloth is a convenient 7″ x 7.25″ for washing a sweet baby or taking off makeup and the larger version measures 9.25″ x 10.25″ making it very useful in the kitchen.

The Everyday Washcloth is worked in one piece using the Interlocking Row Stitch. I’ve also included a hanging loop in the written instructions but it’s completely optional. This is a tighter stitch making it perfect for washing dishes or taking make up off.

Yarn Info!

The washcloths shown above are made with I Love This Cotton in Sunlit Seafoam and Khaki. I also used I Love This Cotton in Ivory which is shown in photos throughout the article.

Several of these yarns can be found on Amazon and if you want to check them out over there just click the photos below. **As an Amazon Associate I may earn from qualifying purchases.

I love how easily customizable these Everyday Washcloths are. With the unlimited colors that are available in worsted weight cotton yarn you can whip up so many of these in almost any color. Look at these washcloths from my amazing testers, Stacy, Whitney, Ethy, Patti and Michele!

The testers used different brands of cotton yarn and I love how they’re all so different. Stacy used Peaches and Creme cotton in Black Currant, Whitney and Patti both used Bernat Handicrafter Cotton and then Michele used We Crochet Dishie. All of them worked up beautifully, right?!

The Everyday Washcloth is an easy pattern perfect for advanced beginner crocheters. It only uses basic single crochet and double crochet stitches.
