Inspiration
This “terrifying” crochet spider is a design that originated from my surroundings out here in the country. From Black Widows to Tarantulas, Wolf Spiders and Orb-Weaver spiders – they’re everywhere!! I also love designing patterns for the Halloween season, so I definitely needed to add a spider to the SASS pattern collection.
The crocheted spider has realistic details, with its long legs and a rounded body. You can use black or dark-colored yarn to give it an even creepier look.
Go ahead and try this crocheted spider pattern using the free pattern below and create your own creepy creature for the occasion!

Design Details
This pattern is perfect for those who enjoy making amigurumi or for those looking for a fun craft for Halloween. Not much yarn is required, and it’s relatively easy to make.
These creepy crawlies are designed using #4 worsted weight yarn and a 4.00 mm (G) hook. With the Link Stitch, they work up quickly and look adorable in a variety of colors.
This intermediate design is a one-piece design worked in the round and measures approximately 6″ wide. It is crocheted in rounds and does not require stuffing if the recommended yarn is used. However, they look amazing when made with a thicker yarn like blanket yarn, and you may prefer to use stuffing.
The new Spooky Spider is a quick project, so grab your hooks. I used approximately 10 yards of yarn for each spider.
You can view the free version of the spider pattern below, or if you prefer the premium ad-free version of the Spooky Spider, you can get it for a small cost in any of my shops. The shop links are listed below.
In the premium version, you will receive a beautifully formatted, easy-to-read PDF pattern that includes a photo tutorial for the Link Stitch, as well as notes on how to add eyes, make a garland, or an ornament.
