Bunny Ears Hot Pad trio

A couple of new hot pad patterns are here!! Introducing my new Bunny Ears Hot Pad set. I’m so excited for y’all to check out these 2 new designs and you can find out how to crochet the Bunny Head Hot Pad below with the free written instructions! These super cute hot pads are perfect for Easter!

EASTER IS THE ONLY TIME WHEN IT’S PERFECTLY SAFE TO PUT ALL OF YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET.

– Evan Esar

I’ve designed them in a hexagon shape (hubby’s idea) and they are really thick for extra protection from those hot pans.

Inspiration

My new Bunny Ears Hot Pad pattern set was really just a quick thought that I had. Easter was coming and I knew that I wanted to design a fun but useful bunny pattern. Since I still had hot pads on my mind from the Sweetheart Hot Pad that just released, I started working on a bunny design. The bunny head came together very easily, so I decided to work up another one, the bunny bottom pattern.

Like the Sweetheart Hot Pad, these 2 designs use the Popcorn stitch making them thicker and quite handy in the kitchen. They are great for helping protect your table tops and counters from hot pans.

If you’re loving the Popcorn Stitch and the useful hot pad designs so far, be sure to keep following along for more texture fun. I have a brand new set of hot pads coming soon!

Design Details

Both the Bunny Ears Hot Pad patterns are designed using #4 worsted weight cotton yarn. They look so cute in all the colors and work up very quickly. Although acrylic yarn offers a ton of different color combos I do recommend that you stay with cotton only as acrylic yarn will likely melt when placing a hot pan on it.

Very importantly, these hot pads are only designed to help protect your counters or tabletops when placing a hot pan or plate on it. It is not intended to pick up or remove hot items from an oven. This does not replace an oven mitt.

The new Bunny Ears Hot Pads are easy advanced beginner patterns worked up using a 4.00 mm (G) hook. You will need 150 yards of yarn to make each hot pad. You will make a front and back block and then connect them with a single crochet border.

Scroll down now to see the FREE Bunny Head Hot Pad pattern. For those that prefer the premium, ad-free version of the Bunny Ears Hot Pads, then you can grab it for a small cost in either of my shops. My shop links are listed below.

In the paid version you will get written pattern instructions for both the Bunny Head and Bunny Bottom hot pads. Also included is 2 graphs, one for making the bunny head and another for making the bunny bottom. Finally, there is a photo tutorial for the popcorn stitch.
