Inspiration
I just love flowers and last year I started releasing the SASSy Sunflower collection so it only seemed logical to add a few daisy designs to the SASS home decor line this spring season.
I actually started working on the Darling Daisy Coaster crochet pattern last spring but, ran out of time to put the finishing touches on it. Things truly worked out better by putting it away and coming back to it this year though. Everything came together so quickly and the design is much better than my original idea!
This farmhouse style coaster is so cheery and is the perfect addition to your springtime home decor. I just know that you will enjoy making a set of these Darling Daisy Coasters.
Design Details
The Darling Daisy Coasters are designed using #4 worsted weight cotton yarn. They look great when made with acrylic yarn, but, cotton absorbs moisture from cups more effectively, which helps to protect tabletops a little better.
The coasters are worked in the round using single crochet and half double crochet stitches. I’ve also incorporated working in the 3rd loop and the Popcorn stitch on a couple of rounds.
The petals are so sweet looking and they work up very quickly by easily using basic chain and slip stitches.

What you will need for the Darling Daisy Coaster crochet pattern
- Worsted Weight #4 cotton yarn (This pattern is designed with Dishie cotton yarn by Knit Picks in White & Bumblebee)
- 30 yards
- 3.75 mm (F) hook
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors

Instructions
With yellow yarn (or color of choice)
MC, ch 1
Rnd 1:
10 hdc in MC. (10 hdc)
Rnd 2:
sc in each st around.
Rnd 3:
2 hdc in each st around. (20 hdc)
Rnd 4:
*sc inc, 1 sc in next st, rep from * around. (30 sc)
Rnd 5:
*hdc inc, hdc in next 2, rep from * around. (40 hdc)
Rnd 6:
*sc inc, sc in next 3, rep from * around, slst to join to 1st sc, ch 1. (50 sc)
Rnd 7:
*sc in next 4, PC, rep from * around, slst to join to 1st sc, ch 1. (10 PC, 40 sc)
Petals
With white yarn (or color of choice)
Rnd 8:
*sc3l inc, sc3l in next 4, rep from * around, slst to join to 1st sc. (60 sc)
Rnd 9:
*ch 7, slst in beginning sc (this makes a loop), working around the loop, turn the coaster to slst in the first 3 ch of loop, in 4th ch [slst, (ch 2, slst in 2nd ch from hook), slst], slst in next 3 ch, slst in beginning sc, on Rnd 8, sk a st, slst in next 2 rep * around until 2 st remain, sk st, slst in last st. (20 Petals)
Finish off and weave in ends.
