Inspiration
The Santa Hat Bottle Topper crochet pattern is a perfect blend of inspiration, creativity, and holiday spirit. It may even look slightly familiar if you made any of the Witch Hat Wine Bottle Toppers. I just know this new wintery, holiday version is sure to become a favorite.
The inspiration for this super cute Santa Hat Bottle Topper crochet pattern might have come from the Witch Hat Bottle Topper, but the overall idea came from one of my amazing testers, Stacy. She let me know, “Hey, you should make a Santa hat like the witch hat, just change the brim!” So, that’s what I did!!
If you like making those witchy hats then you’ll love this pattern too! It’s slightly larger but still uses basic stitches.
Design Details
Designed using a little over 50 yards of any #4 worsted weight yarn and a 4.00 mm (G) crochet hook these 8″ tall hats are perfect for decorating just about any bottle. I use mine for wine bottle decorations but my husband suggested using them for grilling sauces when gifting to your favorite grill master.
This crochet pattern is easily customizable with the endless color options that are available. I used Red Heart Super Saver Metallic in red, Red Heart Super Saver in Spring Green and I Love This Yarn in Red. The poms I found on Amazon and they’re the perfect size for this project.

The hats are made in one piece by crocheting the top of the hat flat and in rows with variations of basic stitches like this picture shows. Then you work the brim in the round.
Designed with the advanced beginner crocheter in mind due to working in the round and color changes but I think almost anyone can tackle this pattern. With just a little bit of practice you can learn how to master all the basic stitches included in this pattern and create your very own Santa hats.
