Inspiration
I have to say that this is one of my most favorite SASS designs. It’s a new favorite because this was mostly my daughter’s design idea and I got to work with her to create it!
Usually when I’m making scrubbies for my market events my family and friends will start putting in orders for new ones, but, this time my daughter let me know that she wanted something different. She wanted one that she could fit over her hand, like a sock. So, we came up with the SASSy Scrubby Sock!!
The new SASSy Scrubby Sock is one of the most useful little tools for your kitchen. They whip up quickly, last a long time and work fabulously on many different surfaces. I recommend testing on new surfaces before use, but, I use mine on my ceramic cookware, granite countertops and my glass stove top just to name a few.
Design Details
Like the SASSy hot pads, this pattern is worked by crocheting with 2 strands of yarn at once. Instead of using two strands of cotton yarn though the pattern uses 1 strand each of cotton and scrubby yarn.
You will love making these handy little scrubbies and they are such a fast make. Just pick out your favorite #4 cotton yarn and decide which Scrubby yarn you love along with an 8.00 mm (L) hook and start stitching a few of these cuties up. I’ve made the SASSy Scrubby Sock using both the Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle and Red Heart Scrubby Cotton yarns and they both work up so amazingly.
The PDF download offers the option to add a hanging loop just in case you like that little feature and I’ve also written the pattern to include 2 different sizes, regular and large. The FREE basic pattern instructions below are for the regular sized scrubby.

How to Crochet a SASSy Scrubby Sock (Size Regular)
What you will need for this crochet pattern
- Medium #4 yarn (Lily Sugar’n Cream & Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle/Red Heart Scrubby Cotton)
- Approximately 25 yards of cotton; 20 yards of Scrubby yarn
- 8.00 mm (L) & 6.00 mm (J)
- Yarn Needle

- ch = chain stitch
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet

Instructions
*With 1 strand of cotton & 1 strand of scrubby yarn
Rnd 1:
ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook 8 times, sl st to join to 1st sc, ch 2 [8 sc]
Rnd 2:
*dc inc, sc in the next 3*, rpt *-* around, sl st to join to 1st dc, ch 2 [4 dc, 6 sc]
Rnd 3:
*dc inc, sc in next 4*, rpt *-* around, sl st to join to 1st dc, ch 2 [4 dc, 8 sc]
Rnd 4:
*dc inc, sc in next 5*, rpt *-* around, sl st to join to 1st dc, ch 1 [4 dc, 10 sc]
Rnd(s) 5 – 10:
sc in each st around, sl st to join to 1st sc, ch 1 [14 sc]
Drop the scrubby yarn & continue Rnd 11 with only the cotton strand of yarn
*With J hook
Rnd 11:
ch 1, *sc, ch 2*, rpt *-* around, sl st to join to 1st sc [14 sc, 14 ch 2 spaces]
Finish off & weave in ends
