I Can Finally Share…
Whew!! Finally, I get to share a big crochet secret!!
Have y’all ever heard of Chuck E. Cheese? 😉 Of course you have! My kids are now grown so it’s been a while since I’ve spent any time with him and his friends, but earlier this year I accepted a special commission request to do some crochet work for his new video, Crochet All Day.

Back in January I connected with a lady that was looking for someone to design AND crochet props for the video. I figured why not, I can do this! Well, little did I realize the deadline to complete everything was only about a week.
The list of props that was needed was quite extensive. There was no way I could fulfill the order in the very short allotted time frame all alone. We discussed our options and decided to choose as many patterns that were already available and that would work great for the video. By doing this it would speed up the process and I could guarantee that my work would be of good quality and that everything would be completed within the time frame.

Most of y’all know that I typically do not make amigurumi dolls but I decided to take on this challenge and absolutely loved it!! I committed to making 2 adult elephants, 1 baby elephant, a giraffe, a flamingo and to design and make a slice of pizza all within 7 days. I did it!!
There were still a few props that they needed and unfortunately patterns didn’t exist for those. I do not work in the area of designing crochet dolls so we needed help! We called on my friend and colleague Malena and her daughter at Straight Hooked since they do work with amigurumi pieces. They took on this challenge like the pros that they are and DESIGNED 4 dolls and a sweater in about a week!! I’m so proud of the OUTSTANDING WORK those two did!!

Like Malena, I have been waiting to share our contributions to the Chuck E. Cheese “Crochet All Day” video, and now I can. A big thank you to my pal Malena and her daughter from Straight Hooked for taking on such a huge challenge with me and completely nailing it!
Also, a loving thank you to my friend Kim, who recommended me for this gig. When she saw the request for a crocheter she immediately referred it to me without any hesitation!!
I have to say that I was a little intimidated as I’ve never done a professional project like the new fun Crochet All Day video but I’m so glad I did it!!
