I absolutely love designing quick and decorative patterns for the Halloween season especially when they work up so quickly like this little ghost. Not only is it easy to whip up, but it looks so cute in all the colors.

Inspiration
So the idea for the Ghost Ornament crochet pattern actually came about 2 years ago. It’s been sitting quietly in my handy little “design book” and I’m super excited to finally share it with y’all. When Marie over at Underground Crafter invited me to participate in the 2025 Halloween Crochet Along I knew that this would be the perfect project for this amazing event.
NOTE: This ghost pattern is intended for decorative purpose only, not to be used as a toy for children.

Design Details
For this scrappy pattern any worsted weight yarn should do. I used Red Heart Super Saver and I Love This Yarn for the ghosts shown throughout the post. Both of those worked up easily and you only need a 3.50 mm hook and about 31 yards of yarn to make this spooky ghost.

👻👻👻
The ghosts are made in one piece and take under an hour to make one. Beginning at the head and using only single crochet stitches you work in the round and then continue with the body by working chains. Then add eyes, mouth, and stuffing before cinching closed.
The safety eyes are optional but I choose to use them since my embroidering skills are not very good (lol). They measure 4″ tall making them the perfect size for decorating with.
Yarn Info!
The Ghost Ornaments shown throughout are made with I Love This Yarn and Red Heart yarn: white, medium purple, and black metallic.
Several of these yarns can be found on Amazon and if you want to check them out over there just click the photos below. **As an Amazon Associate I may earn from qualifying purchases.

With all the different colors available in worsted weight yarn you can make your ghost in almost any color imaginable. Look at these cuties from my amazing testers, Stacy & Michele! They used scrap worsted weight yarn and Lion Brand DIY Glow and they worked up wonderfully!
