Aerodynamically, the bumblebee shouldn’t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn’t know that, so it goes on flying anyway.

Inspiration
Due to “no mow May” I wouldn’t let anyone mow our pastures and they were just glittered with so many beautiful wildflowers. I mean it was an amazing sight! These wildflowers brought dragonflies, butterflies and BEES which really pushed me into full on design mode.
I’ve always wanted to design bee patterns. I have several in my head, but like so many of my designs I just jot them down in my “to design later” notebook. I guess the time is right and it’s now “later”. I’m so excited to finally share this adorable bumblebee crochet pattern, the first of several that I’m working on.
Check out this photo I took out the front door of our RV that helped inspire this sweet little pattern.

Design Details
These reusable cozies are designed using #4 cotton yarn. They work up in no time, look so cute in any color and fit stemless wine glasses that measure about 11″ around.
They can be made in one piece for those that would rather not attach or sew anything. You can, however, make the simple eyes and/or wings and very easily attach them. I generally try to avoid any sewing with my crochet projects so these look just as cute without eyes and wings.
My new, easy Bumblebee Wine Glass Cozy crochet pattern is an advanced beginner pattern. You need a 4.00 mm (G) hook, about 15 yards of yellow yarn and about 30 yards of black yarn to make the body of the cozy. Whip up the wings in no time with about 5 yards of white yarn. To make the eyes you need a 1.30 mm hook and crochet thread.
The cozies are worked in the round from the bottom up, and there are only 15 rounds to complete a cozy.
The free version of the cozy is below, so keep scrolling if you’re ready to get started. If you would prefer the premium, ad-free version of the Bumblebee Wine Glass Cozy, then you can grab it for a small cost in either of my shops. Shop links are listed below.
